Carmelo and Francesca’s children were born in Sant'Angelo di Brolo between 1889 to 1908 (inclusive) and grew up in the family home located on Contrada Calamaci. Over many decades, several generations of Casella descendants have resided in the house, extending the size of the building to better accommodate growing families more comfortably. However, the original, small, single storey cottage where Carmelo and Francesca lived stills remains intact today.
