The Parish of San Nicola di Bari is located in the medieval town of Siderno Superiore, next to an elevated piazza overlooking a panoramic horizon where an expansive sky meets the glistening Ionian Sea.

On 17 May 1906, a new entry was added in the church register, officially documenting the marriage of parishioners Andrea Moschilla and Cecilia Pedulla. Written in Latin, Registration Number 59 (see below) contains their details.

Unfortunately, bride and groom were together for a very brief time before circumstances led to their separation. Even though the wide-open spaces of home were a refreshing comfort for Andrea, just three months after marrying Cecilia, he returned once again to America to resume his work as a miner.

His new wife remained in Calabria.
